The Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission has a Chairman who is also the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State and two (2) Members who are also the Heads of Sharia and Customary Courts of Appeal of the State. In addition to these, are four (4) other members two (2) whom are legal practitioners of high standing with not less than ten (10) years post call, and the remaining two (2) are public figures of high integrity usually appointed by the State Governor with the approval of State House of Assembly. The Commissioner for Justice is also a Member of the Commission. The Commission has an Executive Secretary who is the Secretary of the Commission and also serves as the Administrative Head in-charge of the day to day running of the Commission. The Commission is divided into four (4) Departments, these are:-
Administrative Department: This Department is charged with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the Commission
Appointment, Promotion and Discipline:This Department is charged with the responsibility of Recruitment, Promotion and Discipline of all Staff of the Judiciary.
Planning, Research and Statistics:This Department is charged with the responsibility of Staff Transfer, Withdrawals from Service, Retirement from Service of the Commission and Statistics.
Account Department:This is the financial engine room of the Commission, it is charged with the responsibility of Planning, Organising and Controlling the Commission’s finances.
